A talk on Jack Miner‘s Bird Sanctuary. We had travelogues on Australia and Western Canada. Plywood was purchased and a background made for displaying exhibits at Hâ€"H Achieveâ€" ment days and Fall Fairs. In addition to our regular donations. we donated to the Arena Building Fund after the Port Elgin Arena was destroyed by fire. Some of our members helped canvass in Port Elgin for the C. N. I. B. and collected $157.00. We donated to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Aid Bursary Fundv and a copy of the "History of Bruce County” was placed in each of the three schools in our area. In our first attempt at entering a float at the Fall Fair Parade, we won first prize of 350.00. A trip was taken to Collingwood where we visited Blue Mountain Pottery, Georgian China. Smart's Cannery and Peerless Textiles. We visited the Old Folk's Home at Walker- ton and presented a program for their enterâ€" tainment and gave a box of goodies to each person. Last. but by no means least, we are very proud of the fact that our Twecdsmuir History Book won first prize at District and Area levels and third prize in the Provincial Com- petition. A special compliment was paid to our Branch by the F. \v. I. C. when we were 1n~ vited to send our Book to the A. C. A. W. Conâ€" vention held in Vancouver to be displayed there. but]: u. the credit goes to two hard working members, Mrs. James McEwing and Mrs. Moffatt Jamieson. Mrs. McEwing typed the entire book. In Line Fall of 1960 our Branch took the course "New Lamps for Old". Leader was Mrs. James Cluley am: the assistant was Mrs. James McEwing. the Achievement Day was held in h‘alkerton in Decemuer and the display of lamps made and exhibited by South Saugeen was a source of genuine pride.
