l Over 100 joined in the lit-mile walk from Purple Valley ‘ 11'; Head last Saturday. Members of the Purple Valley and Cape Croker United Churches staged the Walkarhon. alk h (By Mrs. Jack Urbshort) Close to $1,100 was raised by a 15 mile walk-adhon from Purple Valley to Lion's Head . on Saturday June 'lth. The walk began at 8 A. M. near the Mclvor corner by 115 en< rhusiarric walkers of all ages. Of the walkers, 75 were from Cape Groker and 40 walked for Purple Valley. Peter Frouws of wnrton was the ï¬rst to arrive at Lion's Head at 10:58 A.M. He was closley followd by Steve Crack~ hell of wiarton, Freddie Urb- shott of Purple Valley and Rick Hepburn of Wiarton. Reeve Selby Forbes of Lion's Head was on hand to ofï¬cially welcone the wlakers m Lion's Head Park. A gnarl time of felloyship and fun was had by all who took part; and everyone was pleased by the ï¬ne response of the walkers and sponsors. Rhoda has just turned six years old. After the walk, about 150 people enjoyed a barbecue al the Lion's Head Park, super» vised by Rev. Clifford Plant of Lion's Head United Church. The walk was organized by the Cape Croker Pastoral Charge , under the direction of Rev Norma Secord. The Charge includes the Cape - Croker United Church and Pub ple Valley United Church.
