8.5. N0. i 8.5. No. 3 was originally a log building put up by the United Empire Loyalists. It was a small square building with a cottage roof. In 1871 owing to lack of accommodation, 3 frame building was set up on the site of the original log schoolhouse. Carpenters from Bath, Asselstime and Ward put up this building. About this time it came to be known as Kerr's School, because people named Kerr lived next door to the school. Among the first teachers to teach in the new frame building were Miss Willard and Miss Galloway.
