HOPE CHEST QUILT This cotton quilt was made by Hannah Ashdown Tugwell Miller for the hope chest of her daughter, Vera Elaine. The pattern is formed with alternating squares of plain white and of white with a central motive of a large mauve and pink--centered flower. This quilt has seen much service and the original binding is worn, testifying to its use by Vera after her marriage to Maurice Hogeboom. Dated, 1995
