SILK PINEAPPLE--PATTERN LOG CABIN QUILT This quilt, which belonged to Thelma Howard, was made by Mrs. Sarah Jane Strain. Thelma's mother, Mrs. Olive Henderson Glenn, used to help Mrs. Strain quilt her quilts and received this one in appreciation. This quilt is made of mixed fabrics including some velvet. Mrs. Strain used to obtain the fabrics from the United States from her daughter, who was the grandmother of Bob Marshall. Thelma was a Life Member of the Amherst Island Branch of the womens' Institute, and her death on January 12, 1996, was greatly regretted by the members of the Institute. Dated 1996 mm
