W.I, Gertmde Nicks chaired the meeting in the absence of President Lois Limbeck Mary Ellen Maguire Lane, 100 years young commented on the motto "Resolve to make the W.I. enrich your life, but don't wear it out," by saying, "I was here before the WI" Herbirthday is Jan 29, 1997 and she always looked forward to the meetings. District branches ananged displays of various items and heirlooms our mothers and grandmothers used in their day and pictures. Each branch active or disbanded was asked to contribute their history to be compiled into a district history book, plus pictures. This was made ready and on sale that afternoon. Members and friends enjoyed the lunch with our grandmother's favorite cookies, tea and lemonade. Members and families assembled a fashion show of wedding gowns, dresses, suits and hats, which their mothers and grandmothers had worn. We enjoyed seeing children's clothing of yesteryear.
