Nenty-two ladies met at the home of Marion Henderson for this special occasion Several members appeared dressed in antique clothing. Little's Corners, President, Gwen Haney chaired the opening exercises and gave the motto. Jean Paddock read the original minutes of the first meeting. Current membership is 67 with many beingyounger women. The members are serving at other levels of W.I. as well as in many community groups and projects. We joined other W.I.'s around the world to celebrated the 100th Anniversary. A skit "The Women's Institute - Beg'rrriings"featured members portraying W.I. founders and projected visuals to highlight the story. Lunch of assorted tea sandwiches, gingerbread and anniversary cake was sewed. Members and guest were dressed in period costumes, gloves and hats. A special guest was Mrs. Alys Alexander of New Zealand, who presented a tea towel commemorating the 75 Jubilee year of New Zealand W.I. Murmur: North ifiirrtrirt Elnnmittghale Bloomingdale branch held the following Special events to celebrate the 100th Anniversary. On Feb. 19, 1997 we held an old-fashioned supper, using the suggested menu. Past and present members enjoyed the festivities which included a skit about Erland Lee and how he helped found the W.I. Some of the ladies wore old fashioned costumes and one member wore a dress which was made using one of the 100th Anniversary patrems. On Oct. 6, 1997, members who attended the Convention '97 planned the programme on highlights of the convention using pictures, slides and a panel.
