flambell'e (Earner The members of Campbell's Comer Women's Institute, former members and fiiends celebrated the 100th anniversary of the founding of the organimtion, on Feb, 19, 1997 in Valleyview. The Amigos, a musical group entertained the ladies with several numbers. Poems and readings were read by members taking part in the planned programme. Afiernoon tea was enjoyed in the dining room, with sandwiches, sugar cookies and ginger bread A Centermial Tea and Bazaar was held May 3, 1997 at which members sold crafis and tickets on their'Centennial quilt. Judy Steeband & Gladys Kube tend the Crafis table > EHantphert Hampden Women's Institute celebrated the 100th Anniversary of the W.I., Feb. 15, 1997, with 12 members and 16 visitors present. The program followed the suggested form and each member answered the roll call by relating how the Institute had shaped her life, and all the friendships she had made through out the years. Our Institute Hall, formerly a schoolhouse was decorated with a collection of W.I. tea towels. [f we don '1' keep on growing we are nearing the end Let 's use our talents and invite new fi'iends', try the impossible Y Branch members (first; North Eintritt ' The Women's Institute of Grey North District celebrated the Centennial with a party held in the Bognor Community Centre on June 3, 1997, Those attending were met at the door by District Past Presidents, Doria Norton and Doris Edwards. The evening program was chaired by President Blanche Martin, assisted by Margaret Taylor Secretary-Treasurer. Seven branches were present, Bognor, Massie, Woodford, Bothwell's Corners, St Vincent and Riverside who contributed to the program with readings, skits and poems. Music was provided by Hugh Neelands with guitar, singing familiar songs with the audience joining in North Grey Junior Institute members sang two numbers, written especially for their 20th Armiversary and the w. Centennial. Leona Stubbings, Provincial Board member brought greetings as well as County representatives. Two long standing members were present, Isabel Free of Meaford, 70 years and Jean McPherson 64 years of Massie branch. The meeting closed with O Canada and Anniversary Cake.
