SPECIAL EVENTS v: The first large group of visitors (400) were from the Officers' Number 2 Conference in May 1973, and 1500 during the first Women's Institute Week in June. A tremendous amount of work was done in preparation for Wentworth Day on August 8, 1973 for 100 visitors and for The Official Opening Day on August 9, 1973, attended by 400' Women's Institute Week has been held each June since 1973. Six Seminars have been held since 1977 in April as training forums for the hostesses and workers during W'I. Week. Five Area Days have been held since 1978 in April for Hamilton, Trent Valley, Simcoe, Southwestern, Northern and Kingston (combined) Areas. Christmas at the Lee has been celebrated since 1979 in December with the Home and the Drive House decorated in the 1897 era and the visitors being served old-fashioned treats.
