iErland Lee Home Dear Niagara Farmers' Monthly: It would be appreciated if you could include some of the upcom-- ing events at the Erland Lee (Museum) Home in the calendar of events section of your publica- tion. As anewspaper that is in con- tact with both urban and rural Ontario we are considering adver-- tisin in your uhlication. T e Erlan Lee is a beautifully maintained example of Victorian architecture located on the Niagara Escarpment above Stoney Creek, Ontario. "The Lee" is wheelchair accessible, and has a ' picnic area with public wash- rooms and kitchen area. The main museum is the birthplace of the co-founder of the Women's In- stitute. The dining room table where Janet Lee (Erland's wife) penned the Constitution of the Women's Institute can be seen, as well as many other Victorian ar- tifacts. In the drive house are many examples of Victorian equipment used to run a farm in that time period. The Erland Lee (Museum) Home will be open 9-5 Monday to Friday and 1-4 on Sundays as of April 2, 1991. April 15--31 the Erland Lee (Museum) Home IS pleased to be H "' hosting the Christie Antique Bis-- cuit Tin Collection. Over 100 bis- cuit tins of glass, metal and china dating back to the beginning of the company 100 years ago will be on display during the regular museum hours. Saturday, April 27 there will be a Hands-on Heritage Craft Day. Partici ants will be making two crafts mm a choice of 5. Batten- burg Lace, Needlepoint, Rug Braiding, Quilting and Victorian Paperwork. The cost of the day is $20.00 and included a hot lunch at noon and refreshments throughout the day. There will be a small additional charge to cover supplies.
