Ethelwyn R. Weese was born near the Carrying Place in 1875, the daughter of Mr. Mrs. Robert W. Dench. She graduated from Trenton High School, and the Toronto Teacher's Training College. She taught school near Trenton, and then for three years, at Victoria in Prince Edward County. She married Norton 8. Weese. lere, with a family of one son and two daughters, the family lived and enjoyed a fine community life, on a fruit and dairy farm, for fortyâ€"five years. After her husband's death she moved to Belleville. Mrs. Weese joined Rednersville Women's Institute in 1911. She held the office of branch secretaryâ€"treasurer for eight years and president for three years. She was made a life member of Rednersville U.I. in 1955, as a recognition of her valuable services to that branch. She also served as a Prince Edward District viceâ€"president. She later joined the Quinte branch. In 1926 the Belleville Area Convention was organized, and Mrs. Weese served as the the first Area president, holding that office for two years, find for nine years was secretary-treasurer. In the 39 years from 1926 to 1964, ifs. Teese missed only one convention! Mrs. Tuese nas been a member of the Methodist, later United Church, since 1996. She was nade a life member of W.H.S. in 1956, and later a life member 11.4 of U.C.H. She may the founder of the Belleville Prince Edward Club.
