The weather cooperated this year with a beautiful day, and pleasant temperatures. 5,000 is the estimated attendance. 163 vendors set up booths in both the Arena and Curling Club again this year. Without waiting until registration time in 1993 many vendors sign up immediatiy for the following year. This is recorded as being a "recession year" with praspects fer sales down. Houcver, it did not seem to nerk;out that way as many vendors were quick to tell us that they had a good day and their sales were up. That is encouraging for them as well as our district WI's. We again teamed up with Mountain View to serve our usual ham supper, this time with a variety of desserts. Cur share of the proceeds this year was $579.17 so we did a bit better than last year. July 29, 1993 â€" Another pleasant day welcomed visitors and WI Members to our 1993 Annual Craft Show JUlY 28, 1994 August 3, 1995 held, as usual, in the Picton Arena and Curling Club. Along with Mountain View WI, our group served the evening meal. We have worked together now for the past three years and it runs very smoothly. In general attendance was down, but vendors were happy with the results. Prices for their goods are reasonable and not out of the way. Admission fee remained at $2.00. We charged $7.00 for the evening meal. Our share for serving supper came to $885.25 Net proceeds $702.51 after expenses This year a quilt donated by Mary Lou Norton (she was paid $500. plus tax to cover her eXpenses). Each WI was asked to sell tickets and from that the Pr. Edward District realized a sum of $2577.25. The winner was W. Rabbis from Wellington. Monies raised from this sale and also that of the quilt will be earmarked for the Accessible TranSportation Project. The county was blessed with another fine day for our annual Craft Show. As usual crowds took advantage of seeing the 250 vendors wares, shopping around for choice and wellqmade articles. Vendors came from as far as Mississauga, and immediately sign up for the following year. Admission of $2. was not changed, and the dinner served by Rednersville and Mountain View was still $7. That was most successful. This year we were able to utilize the Crystal Palace having been completely restored, a light and airy building. Another Craft Fair got under way under similar circumstances as last year, with good weather and again the 250 vendors that were present to sell their wares. As usual the crowd numbered over 5000 with many having successfully sold their stock ahead of time. A painting of Glenora was donated by Picton artist Gerry Putman and tickets sold and the winner was a Picton resident. This represented the grand prize. We cooked our usual supper along with Mountain View and did very well financially, netting an amount of $898.07 and sharing expenses which amounted to $1h9.52. When we're short of help we manage to get a few young people to help for which we pay them $ 13. Entry charges and supper charges were the same as last year. However, there will be negotiations taking place for the fee for the building rentals. They took an exâ€" horbitant hike for '95 â€" under much critism, with deputations going to County Council. as a matter of interest countyâ€"wise all WI'S in the county had raffle tickets to sell the proceeds of which will be allocated to the Accessible Transportation Fund. /nad
