ACHIEVEMENTS On December 16, 1992, H]? Lyle Vanclief presented the 125 Canada Commemorative Medal to several country residents, and our Mrs. Edith Cairns was awarded hers on December 16, along with the others. This presentation was in recognition for her work in the United Empire Loyalist Association, her church work, her many positions held with Prince Edward Country District Women's Institute, Rednersville WI, community volunteering, 7th Town Historical Society, Ameliasburgh Garden Club and Ameliasburgh Museum. Edith has always been a loyal supporter of any organization to which she belongs, and has contributed much in the line of good ideas and judgement when called upon to do so. We, in the Rednersville Branch of WI, are ver proud to be associated with our recognized member, ' -' " 'id'fl V 7 "-"V L 7 ' Picture taken early 1993 by Daisy Wannamaker $/“fil February 19, 1997 â€" Cunningham House â€" Our 100th birthday celebration in the form of a supper. The meal was prepared by both Mountain View WI and Rednersville WI. The menu was simple but tasty. It comprised of hot cider, chicken pot pie with extra biscuits, cole slaw, fruit salad, sugar cookies and gingerbread with whipped cream, and of course tea/coffee. The program for the evening is in the 100th Year celebration section at the back of the Tweedsmuir History. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of one of our members who has done out- standing service to her community, and in everything she tackles as a WI member. That person is Edith Cairns, who was caught completely off guard when her~name was announced. This award is the result of our executive submitting her name to FWIO in Guelph as an outstanding person and should be duly rewarded. She was chosen on her merit by a special committee of FWIO. She will receive a public recognition at our annual convention in the fall of 1997. At our party Rednersville WI presented her with a bouqmt of flowers in the meantime. We are very proud to have her representing us, and she deserves it all. Ah attended the supper and we all had a nice evening. nm‘
