ACTIVITIES Our 85th Anniversary: June 23, 1991;, at the Cunningham House, Ameliasburgh, saw a special evening of skits, readings, musical selections to celebrate our 85th Birthday. For some it was their first. viewing of the lower hall of the Cunningham House which was officially opened June lBth/9A. The invitation was extended to Consecon and Mountain View WI's, as well as our county executive. The program consisted of events during the past 85 years, remembering members and families that were prominent in the township. We sang “Auld Lang Syne", "It's a Long Way to Tipperary" we remember D Day which is exactly 50 years ago in June, we Opened the pmgram with The Maple Leaf Forever, as was done in the early days, as well as the Institute Rally Song and Anthem. Marion Calnan gave the history of how the Cunningham House came to be. President Evelyn Peck and Vice President Margaret Durrant organized the event, with Nellie Montgomery, Marion Townsend, Faye Netherall, Daisy Wannamaker, Winnifred Fox, all taking part. Evelyn Price, member as well as District Secretary, surprised Marlene Garfield, past President of the District, with a parting gift for her contribution over the past two years, and as a member of Rednersville Branch we thought it fitting to recognize her work. She was so overcome and surprised with a lovely picture frame. For lunch we served cake and ice cream. Photos by Daisy Wannamaker .
