ACTIVITIES All Institutes this year were encouraged to participate in the International Year of the Family. You could do so in many ways. Rednersville WI participated in the Quinta Exhibition in September 19% with articles dating back to the early days of our group. This diSplay featured old toys, children's story books, moving up to the modern era of Christmas decorations etc“ The logo below was introduced by the United Nations, so was a worldâ€"wide theme. No prizes are awarded anymore but when you enter your WI receives $25.00. Another county activity was "The Big Bike Ride for the Heart and Stroke Foundation". One of our Hillier members promoted the idea. The ride took place in Picton riding from the west end to the Fair Grounds. Each participant was asked to secure pledges from friends, family and neighbours. Many WI members from all over the county took part and a grand total of $16,639. was raised for the day's work - and that was May 29, 1991+. Other groups inâ€" volved were: Hallowell House, Carewell Nursing Home, Pr. Edw. County Hospital, Chamber of Commerce, Quinte Isle Tourist Association, Bloomfield United Church, Prince Edward Collegiate, and the Real Estate Board. Promoting the AcceSSible TranSportation for the County made great strides this year, with the framework gradually falling into place., At Picton Fai’iin Sept. ; the vehicle that is used in this work was on display. Because it . was necessary to have local municipalies show interest and support, we are pleased that Ameliasburgh was one of the first)7 along with Sophiasburgh, to commit themselves to the project. Some of our members assisted that day. July 28, 1991+ â€" Our Annual Craft Show was greeted with another pleasant day, with great crowds, a great variety of goods for sale, great food, and an all round success. As usual Rednersville and Mountain View WIls combined resources to supply the evening meal. Proceeds from the supper were $761.00 for our share. August 6, 19% â€" Our group catered to a 50th Anniversary for Daisy and John Wannamaker, a member. Proceeds from this event were $150.00 October 1, 1991+ -= We served pie and coffee again for Ameliasburgh Fair. Although the weather didn‘t, co-operate . the pies and coffee were sold out by A pm. Proceeds were $300.00 which we sent to Guelph for the Headquarters Fund. ._ ' .‘ IELRDSE we» NOMEN‘S , ISTIT †Council shows a assesses ' r , who ‘ d tof le dership i O Inï¬e'ï¬jdafql†t dBllvill d ‘ ‘ 'e‘ncrltic'e o e ‘gowar 66 can not really caring what happens in the rest of the A heart sheltered county, Ameliasburgh Township council has by a roof; 1 d ‘ br'ln in 'bl tr rt ti t a l .
