Then there was the chest Clinic with Institute members giving aid to health authorities in the Masonic Hall. 1967 Centenniel Year was a busy year as Canada reached the age of 100 and Institutes everywhere were involved in many Centenniel projects. We entered a float in the parade which opened Ameliasburg Park; we gave a donation to Consecon Centenniel Committee when our own park was officially Opened; we presented a Maple Leaf Flag to wave proudly on the new flag pole until it was removed by vanâ€" dals. We supplied another one. We planted two flowering crabs in memory of a local lad, som of one of our oldest members. This was the year when local school sections and school boards were being amalgamated and the little red school houses were to exist only in fond memory. Our century plus stone school held a final At Home and again it was the W.I. who assisted the teaching staff by providing refreshments at the afternoon and evening events. The bell which had sounded over the village longer that most Conseconers could remember was rung for the last time but the Institute in conjunction with Consecon Legion Branch 509 played a part in planning that it be preserved in the village. perhaps when you visit our local Post Office you may pause for a chat and a brief rest on the bright red bench we placed there for your convenience. , at the risk of being a little long winded, and sound- ing a bit boastful. we are proud of having played a con- siderable part in the planning and opening of Consecon Library in the former Trinity Anglican Church. Recently we placed a book on the shelves in recognition of a former Mrs. Irene Penhale whose tireless efforts converted er reluctant townships councils to support a proâ€" ject of which we now see the wisdom. osing I feel that I share the sentiment of all Who rate this special occasion with us. Consecon Branch, for 3 generations you have been a blessing to your Home and Country. May God bless you for many years to come and may you continue to be a blessing as you have been for those 75 busy years. Typed by G.P.Swann
