The more we give the more we will receive, and We will receive in full measure just in proporâ€" tion to the thought and energy we put into the organization. To serve, to be of use, is the greatest thing in life, and our success and happiness depends upon the kind of service we give and the way in which we direct our energies in applying it. What the Institute means to me and to you is a clearer vision, a greater breadth of thought, a greater opportunity for the development of the talents which God has given us. If we use our talents they will become increased. If we do not use them, they will be dormant. “Truly to him that hath shall be given and to him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.” It means the broadening of the intellectual horizon, the preparation for the greater responsibilities of citizenship; the washing away of the powder and paint of a sham‘society and replacing it with the beauty of nature and reality. What the Institute means to me and to you, is self control, self respect, self reliance, and the spirit of tolerance that will give and take; that we may differ in the little things of life, but in the big things be one; that we may differ in matters of public interest but meet in common controversy and at the same time be able to grasp each others hands in genuine friendship. . It means kindness, consideration for others, equality of rights and the meeting together on common ground without class or creed and with one aim and Object in viewâ€" the training and utilizing of public intelligence. It means to cheerfully perform the little tasks that make for the larger life, to willingly lend the helping hand and to show others our appreciation by letting them know how much we value their services. What the Institute means to me and you is to guard against indifference, lack of interest, undue criticism, anlousy, envy and strifefithese are the dis- turbing influences which blight and wither the Godâ€"given powerfithe human intellect. The institute means to me and you the application of the “Golden Rule” to our every-day life, “To do unto others as you would they should do unto you.” In conclusion, let me 'say the farm woman is very often hungry and in need of foodâ€"mot carbo-hydrates, or proteids, she has had plenty of theseâ€"but of inspirational food. She needs the quickening effect of human contact, that will make her more alert and responsive to the agencies that lift human life to a higher planegwhich need to me and to you has been met by our Institute THE INSTITUTES RESPONSIBILITY.
