Monda Halpem and Katherine Grieve F.W.|.O. Women's Day a Success! Having a ?ve minute chat with Professor Monda Halpem (le?) about her mini lecture titled "The W.l.: A Landmark in Ontario Women's History" is Katherine Grieve from Brooksdale. Monda Halpem was the keynote speaker at the Women's Day. a pilot project for the Federated Women's Institute of Ontario and hosted by London Area W.l. The event was held on April 10"" 2010 at the Lucan Community Memorial Centre. Halpem is the author of "And On that Farm He had a Wife: Ontario Farm Women and F eminism. 1900-1970" and teaches history at U WO. Other speakers were Master Gardener Nancy Abra who spoke on "green remedies" to rid garden of insects. Cathy Bunch demonstrated clever accessorizing trends and Robert Pel of RKilts spoke on the an of kilt making using leather and hemp. The winner of the dream make over was Gerda Veel of Coldstream and the audience of 100 women had the opportunity to see "?nish product" at the end of the day.
