The schoolhouse and the church were the first buildings to be built for a new community. Education was as important to these citizens as it is today. A full week of activities were planned with the theme link-- ing each day together. Staff members Scott Naisbitt and Christine MacDonald were co- planning the events. Events included a kick-off assembly with the staff dressed as community members and an art gallery day with stu- dents' work from Junior kin-- dergarten to Grade 8 on dis-- play. Zorra's HPS'S major fund raising activity in the form of - differentztypes of ----a--thons for'eacli' level was held on Tuesday. "Our community at work" day was the largest link of the week. "Students were given the op- Quilt crazy Piecemaker's '96 Biennial Quilt showwas put" on by the Stonetowne and Huron-Perth Quilters Guilds. 'The event, was held at the community centre over' three 'days last week and drew more than 1,700 people. A parade of students dressed as community members con- cluded the community links assemble and education week on Friday.
