Greg Whittaker, of Uniondale, is a member of Chuck Jones' sta?' and got a chance to hold 'Oscar,' the ?lm industry's highest tribute. Whittaker, a graduate of the School of Animation at Sheridan College in Oakville, joined the staff of Chuck Jones ?lm productions in November 1994. In November 1995 Greg was promoted to 'Animator'. Chuck Jones says "I want to de- velop a new unit of animators which was like ours at Warners Bros. dur- ing animations golden era." Chuck Jones is known as the crea- tor of Daffy Duck, Pepe Le Pew, Michigan J. Frog, Yosemite Sam, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Run- ner, the Dr. Seuss Series, etc. The studio is presently moving into the realm of short animated cartoons. 'Another froggy evening', 'Chariots of fur', and 'Superior duck' have been completed to date. Cur- rently in production is 'From hare to eternity,' a tribute to Jones' friend and college, the late Fritz Freleng, starring Bugs Bunny and Yosemite Sam. "There can't be just one Chuck Jones," says Steven Spielberg. "He's created so many characters and cartoons that have become part of our lives, it's impossible to believe they all sprang from the same pro-- li?c talent. He has been an inspira- tion to me and animation lovers throughout the world, a toon giant who gave us all a gift of entertain- ment." ' Greg Whittaker is thrilled to be able to have the experience of work- ing under an animation legend. He says it is very ironic that Chuck Jones Film Productions has recently moved into building 131 on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, Cali- fornia as this is the same building that Chuck Jones, Fritz Freleng, etc. worked in from 1955 to 1962. _ Greg is the son of Marjor and George Whittaker of RRI Lakeside, and attended Wildwood, A. J. Baker, and St. Marys DCVI. .. :19 .'s .. , At the Festival Sounds sweet Adelines show held Sunday in Stratford, the Premium Blend Quartet sang several numbers.
