Green asked all presenters to emphasize the fact that."edu- cation is alife-long learning process thatdoesn'tstop when you receive your diploma." This year's theme was ordi- nary professional people - par- ents of students attending Zorra HP. Students of Grade 6-8 ro- tated among three chosen careers out of the nine careers offered. Each session was 25 minutes in length. Each presenter who was dressed in their professional attire discussed what their job entailed, what education is needed to enter in the career and what continual upgrading is needed. A question and answer pe- riod allowed students to find out more of the nitty-gritty of thejoblike wages and dislikes of the job. , The choices of careers are as follows: Museum Curators - Sheila Johnson and Ian Bell; Police Officer - Scott Giovannetti; Veterinarian - Harold Arbuckle; Airline Hostess -- Heather Hill; Bank Manager, Rick Pikul; Control- ler -- Wayne MacKinnon; Real Estate Agent - Henrietta Webb; Interior Decorator -- Judy Hayward and Civil En- gineer -- Robert Walton. The success of the day was aided by the nine parent vol- unteers who rotated with the students, staff members Bob Hutson and Gail Winterton who organized the students and Joanne Glassford, secre- tary of Home and School, in charge of hospitality.
