Cadmus School decided that the site where the school was situated was not fit for a school and selected a new site which was a half acre on the s.e. corner of lot 16,on the 5th. concession . Ratepayers meeting approved, and agreed to pay,5r25 and the old school site,to Mn. Mountjoy for the new site. Application was made to the municipal council to issue debentures for $1000. No action was taken by the council. The Ed. decided to hire solicitors Simpson & Blair to compel the council to grant the request. Ratepayers opposed this move. IN June 1902 the Ed. advertised for tenders to build the school. In 19 05 the school board requested the council not to Issue deb's. as applied for in 1901 and solicitors were instructed not to proceed with any action against Tr?! council. In 1904 all resolutions previously made were annuled, repealed or cancelled by the Board and later by the Ratepayers, and)it was deeided,to buid I the school on Lot 15,(s.e.corner,)Con 5. Debentures were applied fnozl)1500oint. 4V2% repayable)from taxable property in the secstion,in 7 annual payments. . Present at the Ratepayers meeting at this time were t Wm. McLaughlinSr., Wilson Nesbitt, James Marlowe, John Lane, Geo. McLaughlin. The new site for the school was fenced and a new well dug.
