But the figures provided by the township were not correct. Some expenses attributed to Mayor Mare Coombs should have been applied to Councillor Clinton Breau. It doesn‘t mean much in the big scheme of things, but it changes who has bragging rights as the cheapest member of council. Councillor Breau has been dethroned and replaced by Councillor Ed Van Egmond, largely because Councillor Van Egmond does not submit mileage expenses. Mayor Coombs is the other member who chooses not to submit mileage. Sam Short and Tiffany Best will respresent Colborne, after winning their divisions at the Colborne Legion. Sam‘s speech was based on the story, "A Worm in my Pocket". He will compete in the Primary Division. Tiffany will give her speech on "Black History" in the Intermediate Division. Breanna Bradshaw also won in Colborne, in the Junior Division and will be the Northumberland Hills rep. in Campbellford. She will speak on "What it means to * be a Girl Guide".
