Father Keainan the first Pastor.Port Perry was and still is a Mission . chureh.Records previous to 1876 are preserved in the Parish Register of Brock in Beaverton.The first Mission in Port Perry was built of wood on the site by the old cemetery on Borellia Hill in the year 1870,and named St.John. The second Mission was called The Immaculate Conception(the church formerly belonged to the Methodists)situated at the corner of John and Cassimir Sts. The first services were held in the year 1886 with Father Allain as the Past@ In July 1916 the Catholic Chureh was struck by lightiing destroying the stseple and the cross.lLass was solemnized in the homes for sometime after - this incident. The Catholic cemetery was closed in 1954 and burial is now in Uxbridge. The third mission was built on highway Ta(Seugog St.)in the year 1967 with Father Adrian Leeasas Pastor.The old mission is now used as a church community centre.The Official Opening is on another page.
