From early childhood Audrey showed a passion for all the smallcreatures that frequented the property, It was not surprising then, that in later years she secured a pair of angora rabbits, As the number of raboits increased, before she knew it, she was in the business, as a hooby, It was then she learned to pluck the wool from the rabbits and spin it into yarn for knitting, By this time her hobby had grown into an industry. After winning many prizes at local fsirs, Audrey showed at the Royal Exhibition in Toronto. It was while she was showing there that she lost, by fire, over two hundred and fifty of her herd. Undaunted, she began to build again with only her show stock as a nucleus. For many years she enjoyed her hobby of the rabbit industry and meeting people who came to purchase her prized angora yarn until in 1972 the Kent estate, with the exception of the plot on which the old home stands, was sold to developers. 4 Audrey was always very generous in going wherever requested, to schools, churches, and clubs to demonstrate spinning on an oldâ€"fashioned spinning wheel., On these occasions, her constant companion was a gorgeous white rabbit which either sat in a box at her feet or on her knee as she worked, Besides a room full of trophies for her prowess in the angora industry, Audrey won many prizes for flowers and flower arranging. She has also won prizes for her oil paintings, wool hooking and sewing. ‘ Audrey‘s outside interests include membership in the Port Perry United Church, The Louise Patterson Handicraft Guild, The Honeydale Women‘s Institute, The Senior Citizens‘ Club of Port Perry and the Oshawa Horticultural Seciety and Lyceum Club. fraks Lo sef f es â€"Pra e LA Aa tucte. 44 hes hary Faesed
