The life of our Markstay community has netoest9t1r- ily been greatly influenced by its proximity to Sudbury City where two major companies, International Nickel and Falconbridge Nickel Mines, are located. These pro- t, duce between them some 90% of the world's supply of nic- -. kel. One or the fastest growing and most progressive young cities in Canada, Sudbury offers unexcelled oppor- tunities to those living within easy range, such as Mare- _ stay. Many of our residents commute daily to work in the mines. Wages are among the highest in Canada and an eight hour day permits employees to engage in part time work along other'lines.if they so desire. _ When our children finish public school and wish to attend high2free transportation ls provided for them with many attendant advantages. They are encouraged to belong to the library, attend shows and go to hockey games and other sports events at the large civic Arena. The excellent bus service, apart from those who own cars, allows adults as well to participate in events of special interest. Many housewives do their grocery shop- ping there and follow the advertisments in the Sudbury _ Daily Star for the various Items offered in the Stores " and supermarkets.
