e s 2 Nrs, Garfield (Helen ) Bottrell To themembers of the Woodville W.I. January ,1977. I moved to Woodville from Toronto in Peptember 1949,and as we didn‘t have friends in the area it was quite an experience. I assure you, that I felt I had moveg to the end of the earth, but it was only a few hours afper our arrival, that we found a basket of potatoes,a basket of potatoes and some cucumbers on our front doorstep. I still don‘t know who left ?hem butthat was our initiation into a wonderful and happy time for the next l4% years. Not too long after we arrived in Woodville my neighbour acrass the street !‘rs, L. Hooey invited me to attend theé Women‘s Institute meeting .I did,and met some very wonderful peoplethere, I really enjoyed the community spirit that prevailed., â€" everyone working together and inter â€"ested in each other and the community as a whole. I was made very welcome and shall always remember the good times I had while a member of the Woodville Women‘s Institute. I was very happy to be able to attend the birthday celebrationin the Town Hall. I often think;of the Mary Stewart Collect and wonder if these _ words of wisdom were adgï¬ted by the world‘s populationwhat a different place it would be to live in. *ours most sincerely in friendship, | Helen Bottrell Curator‘s Note ;Helen was secretary 1951â€"52 and president from1952â€"53, O.McD,
