The Cramahe library board approached Cramahe Council for funding to renovate the basement and a grant of $10,000.00 was received. Randy Jakobi received the contract. On January lst, 2001 the new Township of Cramahe Public Library Board came into being. T was appointed CEO, Secretary and Treasurer of the Board as well as Chief Librarian of Castleton Branch. The Community Access Program was set up by Industry Canada so communities could receive funding to provide public internet service. Prior to amalgamation the Colborne Board was a partner in Apple Blossom CAP. At amalgamation time Castleton was added. A few years later, this CAP site was closed. Cramahe Council then funded the computer sites at both branches. While in Peterborough, I was given information on a Peterborough CAP network. When contacted, they were not able to add our branches. A year or so later, the opportunity arose for our Board to join their network and were again eligible for Industry Canada funding. The Trillium Foundation have been very generous in providing funds.
