4 /2 Mrs. Adelaide Hoodless Sen. E. D. Smith, a member of Canadian Government and Major F. M. Carpenter, a former member, together assisted the Women in drafting their constitution and bylaws and the facts that this broad elastic constitution provided for the development of this society into an organization of worBHâ€"wide proportions reflects the ability, wisdom, vision and foresight of men and _. women repponsible for its framing. There is magic in the word Home. It is a mystic circle surroudded by comforts and virtues, never known beyond its hallowed limits: The house where God proposes to give to his children a little foretaste of heaven, a world of strife shut out, and a world of love shut in. Home is the sweetest word in the Saxon tongue. It has the brightness of sunshine and fragrance of flowers. It suggests love, peace, rest and gladness, mother‘s care, and wife‘s tenderness and devotion. So Mrs. Hoodless was one of the kindest and loveliest of women; what a great debt of gratitude women owe these pioneer leaders ...... Men and Women.... for the wonderful heritage which they have bequesathed to posterity in the WOMEN‘S INSTITUTE ORGANIZATION.
