Mrs. Lyle Burgess attended the Review Court in Pembroke and our appeal was granted. _ . f A few members attended the 75th Anniversary of the Women‘s Insvitutbe, held in Ottawa . $20.00 was donated to the Beachburg Medical Centre. : A thief broke into Laurentian View Hall, and <took a copperâ€"tooled Institute crest, a picture of the Queen in an ambique frame, our butcher knife, and the school bell. Delmar Cotham was presented with a lovery cake plate on the occassion of . her L5th Wedding Anniversary. Mrs. Kidd received the same for her 40th Anniversary. Bruce Johnston of Cobden demonstrated. on Wool Uraft work at our grandâ€" mothers"! meeting. Presedent Mre. M. Melbaughklin and Secretary Mrsg. Westey MceLaughlin _ attended the 25th Anniversary of Snake Raver Women‘s Institute. Mrs., Joe Mclaughlin gave a demonstration on making garnicshes. NMrs. Stewart Johnson, Beachburg, spoke on her trip 2 to Finland. Iwentyâ€"nine ladies took the W.L. sponsored course on "Needlepoint", Laurentian View continued to sendâ€"a del@gate to the Otvawa Area convention, and to entertain another instiuuwte each yean. . s § In 1978, Dr. Weodfine, Beachburg, spoke on his native coumtbry of Wales.. Members quilted 2 quilt for Mrs. Owen Kigd, Members attended a 75th birvhday party for Mrs. W. Mebaughlin, one of our members. Leaders for the course "Spoilight on Bread" were Mrs. Hayden Whitmore, and Mrs. Owen Kidd. . Westmeath Township reeve Gordon White was guest speaker at our August : f meeting, when members of Micksburg W. I. were guests. . &
