The various branches provided the proâ€" C gramme. People came from far and near and it was truly a successful entertainment. . A very worthwhile resolution was sponsored by Mrs. Stanley â€" Hunt that a portrait of Mrs. Adelaide Hoodlass be placed in the Archives, Ottawa. Action has already been taken and the porâ€" * trait will be unveiled May 8th, 1950. Two other important honours coming to North Renfrew, was the Chairmanship of the Area Convention, Ottawa, by Mrs, Wesley Berry, Cobden, in the years 1947 and 1948 and that Mrs. B. A. Fray, Pembroke took part in the pageant at Guelph at 50th anniversary 1947,. These are but a few of the signposts as we travelled along ‘ the District Institute Highway. Every mile brought encourageâ€" ment and enthusiasm from the branches to the District. Our District Annuals are eagerly looked forward to by each member, where we rub shoulders with sister members. Looking back over these minutes we find women status raiséd because we have developed in leadership and we have taken the guesswork out of homemaking, giving each one the ability to express themselves before an audience when called upon to do so. So let‘s Live and Love and Learn together as we throw out this challenge, the theme of our 50th anniversary.
