At another time it was 27 boxes - the sweaters and mittens being made by the members; Mrs. Adrain one year knitting most of the socks. Letters were received by some of the men by the Branch: Art Dupuis from Italy Cpl. Walter Bloom from Italy Paddy Manon from Belgium Art Peseeu from Italy Reg. Hudson from Scotland . The last box sent was to Reg. Hudson at Christmas time, he was in Germany and was the last one of the men still oversees, this was in 1946. Short Courses: One of the first short courses held was in sewing. It was held in the Anglican Hall in 1936. since then, there has been many more, to name some of them.... _ Sewing...Cprer tooling...Leather craft...Lamp shades [ , Needle-point-.. Y Also Rural Night School classes in typing and cooking sponsered _ . by the Institute. 4-H club work for many years dating back to , the first one in 1945 which was called the "Milky way”.
