TREASURER Pastor Anderson immediately began visiting neighbouring churches in Canada and the United States to canvas for help in erecting a church building. Through his efforts, $ 600.00 was raised which was a large sum of money in those days. Mr. Anderson donated four acres of land on which the church was to be erected. On July 1, 1903, the first sodâ€"turning ceremony was conductâ€" ed. Finally, a sturdy log church was seen from the shores of Deer Lake. Services were held reguâ€" larly in the new building, with Sunday School classes. This same building served as a public school for a number of years, Mr. Thomas Kraby being the first school teacher in charge. After the departure of Mr. Anderson, Mr. G.T. Johanson led the congregation until February 6,1910. Rev. Gust Engstrom with family, was welcomed as the pastor of this church. After 25 years _ > of service, he retired. Mr. Engstrom served this community in many ways. He was pastor, counselâ€" lor, doctor and undertaker. He really deserves high praise for his years of service. Rev. and Mrs. Axel Fugelsang arrived in February, 1936, and served 5 years. He was instrumental in supervising the building of a new church to replace the old log church. 1941â€"1951 had many short term pastors and summer students. 1951â€"1953 Rev. FEG. Radford his wife Eva and children were here. He was our last resident minister, 1953â€"1977 saw many summer students also. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Maybury were with us from 1975â€"1983 till his death. Since 1985, we have had Rev. J.R. Boyd with us. This little church has had its ups and downs and has seen many changes but God has in so many ways, shown us His care and loving kindness and given us victory over every trial. We will never be able to glorify His Name enough. Many loved ones has He taken to His eternal home who so faithfully served Him. It is now the question of who will accept the challenge of stepping into service, replacing those, He has called home. â€" It is now up to you, my friends. What will your answer be ?
