This scholarship has been very welcomed by Nipissing University and especially by the deserving students. in conversations with them they often say that this scholarship has provided them with much needed funds for tuition and books. Anyone who is familiar with the university system knows the extremely high cost of tuition and books, as well as the many other costs associated with higher education. Each of the past recipients of our scholarship has gone on to further education, some with small children in tow. At each Awards Social representatives of our Northern Area have been able to inform several people about who we are and what we do. It is truly an educational experience for all those whom we meet at this time. _ If there is anyone who would like to represent the Northern Area at one of these events, please contact me concerning the details. Usually the Awards Social is held during the last week of January or first week in February, in the afternoon. There is space for only one representative from each group awarding a scholarship. At present the Area has not provided mileage to aitend this event. I have included photos of all our scholarship winners along with copies of the thank you letters they have sent to us. 1 apologize for the poor quality of my first attempt to send these by eâ€"mail, therefore this time | am having them available at our Area Convention . | will be sending an article to the Home & Country magazine describing our scholarship and including photos of our recipients. As well, | have begun a scholarship history book to allow a permanent record of our work,.
