_ (g) . the fern was rented to Burt Graham, then of Barrie. He remained a tenant until the spring of 1957. At that time the property was sold to Arthur Minnett. Since then . Roland's old homestead has been purchased by Max E'i'ootten. I understand that part of the remaining property has changed hands, but I have no particulars on it. During the time that he resided in Robillarcl, Oswald was active in community . affairs. He took an active part in the founding of the Charlton l District Farmers' Jo-operative Company. He was Manager of' the company during its early years,and then . President, until his retirement in 1945. He was also active in the founding of the U.F.O. Club(United Farmers of Ontario) in Charlton, and in the building of the U.F.O. Hall. This was a joint venture between the newly formed Cho-operative Co. and the Club. The downstairs was the first (Jo-op, store. The upstairs was a meeting place . for the club, and also for the executive of the company. When a larger building was purchased for use as a store the original one was used for, and became known as,the Storehouse, It still stands behind the Jo-op. Store of today and is used in connect- ion with the feed business. It has been moved at least three times. Oswald served on the Board of Trustees of? s.s. No. 5 Rohillard. He was auditor for S.S. No. ',5 for a number of years, as well. as for other neighbouring school boards. At one time he T _ was secretary treasurer for S.S. No. 5. _ . Roland served on the Board of? Trustees of s.s. No. 3 for many years. He was a Director oi" the Charlton & District Farmers' Co-o-perative Company for a time. He was organist at St. Faiths Anglican Church in Charlton for over 40 years. After retiring from farming he was the Mayor of Charlton for about 20 years. T David served on the Board of? Trustees of? s.s. No. (5 for a number of? years. He was auditor for the School Board for a number of years. He was a Director ot' the Charlton. & District Farmers' (ho-operative Company for a time. Roland and David were active In getting the Temishaming Producers' Go-operative Company of New Lis- keard interested in taking over the Charlton Co-operative. At that time the Charlton (Jo-op. was in a bad way financially, and it was a move that benefitted the share- n _
