F . q FEDZRATED WOMEN‘S INSTITUTES OF ONTARIO ASSTSTANCE FOR CONVENERS OF RESOLUTIONS 1963â€"196 (Mrs, L. G. Lymburner, %58 éï¬m Street, Port Colborne, Ontario, Convener) For the consideration of Resolutions Conveners and members at all levels: 1, â€" Do give thorough study to your metter before forming a resolution, Isolated > Ancidents will not receive serious consideration at Provincial l&Â¥@1l. 2. â€" Decide whether the resolution finally, is a matter for local authorities‘ attention. If this is the case, the Provincial Board cannot deal with the matter. 3. Do make an effort to establish whether the matter has been dealt with by M your Provincial Board and if so, what disposition was made of the matter, 4. _ When directing a resolution to the Provincial Board for its attention, do not use the expression "individually and collectively", The use of this wording indicates that it is being directed to the members of F.W.1I.0. This being so, the onus is with those who formulated the request to do what they can, personilly to change or improve a situation. 5. It would be helpful if all Area Conveners forwarded tothe Provincial Convener a copy of the Resolutions prior to presentation at the Area Convention, This would enable the Provincial Convener to inform the Area Convener whether or not any of the Resolutions about to be presented had previously been dealt with and what disposition had been made of them, 6, _ The words "individually and collectively" may be used in connection with any resolution in which a request is directed to the members of F.W.1I,.0, through the Provincial Board. 7. â€" Perhaps Branches (or Districts) would set up a study in connection with matters affecting women and their status or, in connection with laws affecting children or the aged. Out of this could no doubt, come some interesting findings and proposals for betterment. Our‘s is an organization . which has as its comerstone, "For Home and Country". Let us then, when . we are proposing legislation affecting our homes and our country give the ksenest thought and consideration to these matters, Mrs, L.
