Her father was David Hunter and her mother was Jean Hamilton. She was married in Zion Church, Brantford, Ontario, September 15th, 1881, to John Hoodless. Their four children were: Edna Clarkson born 1882 Joseph Bernard " 1884 Muriel Adelaide " 1886 John Harold it 1888 John Harold died at the age of eighteen months and it was the death of this son who contracted T. B. from contaminated milk which stirred Adelaide Hoodless to do the work which she carried on for the duration of her life. The Adelaide Hunter Hoodless homestead was purchased by the Federated Institutes of | Canada and is being restored to the period when Adelaide lived there as a girl. She organized the first Women‘s Institute at Stoney Creek in February, 1897.
