BEALTON _ WOMEN!S _ INSTITUTE Fifty years ago in Bealton a group of women, willing of spirit and resolute of mind, saw where they,as an organization might be of service to others,. In consequence on January Fifteenth Nineteen Hundred and Fourteén:»~, the Bealton Women‘s Institute was organized. Inspired by the progressive spirit of Adelaide Hoodless the Institute has proven worthy of its motto "For Home and Country". From a small group of farsighted women the Bealton Women‘s Institute has steadily grown until to our present membership of thirtyâ€"seven. Each year through public speaking contests on Family Night, we are starting pupils speaking in public. A great deal has been accomplished, more can be done, The orâ€" genization is looking forward to continuing to be of service wherever its talent and usefulness can be best used to serve the Home and Country. I want to express my appreciation to all whose generous coâ€" operation in this project made it possible for us to print the Tweedsâ€" muir History. I also want to thank Mrs. Gordon Armstrong, who gave so genâ€" erously of her time and energy in compiling this book,. Without the help of all, this book would not have been possible. é/m 777. 'i/‘/% I I appreciate this opportunity of extending congratulations and best wishes to the Bealton Women‘s Institute on their Tweedsmuir Book. _I am pleased also to send greetings from the District of North Norfolk. 1 am sure that'a review of the activities of Bealton Institute through the fifty years of its existence will be informative and will be received with great interest by the Institute members of the district. Â¥ The planning a Tweedsmuir History Book immediately brings one‘s attention to the activities of the organization. One‘s thoughts go back to the time this Institute was organized. Compare the conditions at that time with those existing at the present time and you will find progress has played a very important part. My earnest hope is that your Institute will continue to prosper and to provide members who are interested in your history as well as the progress of your Institute. Mrs. Fred Goode Pres.
