Members were given a petition against further budget cuts to mediâ€"care, to be circulated, signed and sent to MPPs and the Minister of Health. Barbara Stones, program COâ€" ordinator, reported many interestâ€" ing programs from the branches. Jerinne Porteous, FWIC board director, asked.the branches to use the theme ‘I‘m Proud* as in ‘I‘m Proud to be Canadian‘ for their 1992â€"93 programs. The first ediâ€" tion of the new Home and Country will be printed in September. Canadian citizens, the Lincoln District WI will celebrate Canada 125 on June 15, at the Vineland WI hall with all nine branches parâ€" ticipating. Members were reminded of the district social evening on Monday, June 15, at the Vineland WI hall at 7:30 p.m. Remember the special ‘pennies for friendship‘ collection to acknowledge the theme of Canada‘s 125th anniversary, This money will go towards the world organization (Associated Country Women of the World) through which the WI has representation at the United Nations. Members again participated in pitchâ€"in week, and collected five bags of garbage from Mountain‘s Alley and vicinity on May 4. The following people hold the given positions for the BWI for the 1992â€"93 year: Barbara Stones reported on the ‘Decor Accents‘ course in late March with 15 participants. She requested items completed from the course be displayed at the disâ€" trict annual. The District‘s social evening will be held on Monday, June 15, at the Vineland Women‘s Institute Hall. The theme for that will be ‘Canada‘s 125th Birthday‘ and members will be asked to donate $5 towards the hall rental and special pennies for friendship, for Associated Country Women of the World. > tle. The next meeting of the BWI will be the annual outing since gardens are involved.
