[ or 4 A{ £ U JWC _ 1 Spirit‘s Whisper Ranch Our Braemar Women‘s Institute carpooled and headed south to Spirit‘s Whisper Ranch owned and operated by Kristi Rockley on Jackson Line south of Straffordville. We had a very interesting time hearing about Kristi‘s major life shift from police officer with a secure job plus benefits to one of uncertainty when she went where the spirit, heart and intuition took her into the world of horses, living in the now, far from the maddening crowd, and away from the noise and violence of the outside world. Kristi took a risk and leapt into a new and exciting life style using horses as mediums in assisting clients to discover their authentic selves and become who they were meant to be. She spoke with passion for her work, her goals for helping people of all ages let go of their anger and anxieties thus proceeding on their personal journeys guided by the spirit of the horse, learning to pay attention to their intuition, listen to the message in their hearts and reacting to common sense without over analyzing. After the presentation, we were invited to walk among the horses which were quite receptive to our presence. They touched us and we them; a very calming experience. Bernice Marsland introduced and thanked Kristi and presented her with a card and monetary gift from our branch. Fred Marsland gave her ten bales of hay for the horses. Guests joining us for the day included Sue Simonson‘s sister Barbara, Mary Mackay‘s daughters , Barbara Flood and Ruth Buchner, Bernice Marsland‘s brother Fred Marsland. Overall, it was a warm, sunny and perfect day for a journey such as this. Bernice Marsland May 6,2015
