[ Stratford Business \~~Helen Audrey Armour, 82, of Thamesford, passed ‘away Tuesday, June 12 at her residence. She was born January 26, 1925 in Medina (near St. Marys), daughter of late Hazel Ryder (1934) and Guy Earl Swope (1944) and stepdaughter of late Alma (1984) and John (1977) Watson. _ In 1930, Audrey started public school, which includâ€" edrmusical training in vocal and chorus; in 1937 attendâ€" ed St. Marys Collegiate Institute. In 1940, she attended Audrey Armour‘s friendshi 3 College. She also enjoyed the responsibilities and personal growth gained with the various posiâ€" tions she held in the Oxford Presbyterial UCW. and London Conference. She was active in Women‘s Institute, involved in researching WI around the world, served at. both the local and district levels, public relations including bus trips to various destinations, and â€" enjoyed working on the WI archives. Her interests included writing letâ€" ters and corresponding with people from all over the world. As well, she created many. scrapbook keepsakes of poems and pictures for family and friends to celebrate a special occaâ€" The special speaker. was John Nardachioni who had a heart transplant at the University Hospital in London. He is the spokesperson for the Organ and Tissue Transplant Foundation. He told the ladies about his time waiting for a donor and then his experiences after the transplant; a very interesting presentaâ€" tion and very emotional time in his life as he waited for a donor and would it come \ in time. * â€" A donation was made to the "Go, Go, â€" Grannies." In June they will be visiting the St Marys Museum. C " Lakeside Women‘s Institute will hold every letter in the name of a plant you brought for the plant exchange. s sion. Entertaining was one of her favourite specialties. She, treasured her many collections including cookâ€" books, stuffed animals, bells, spoons, angels. Predeceased by sister HNene Cameron (1982) and brother Bob Hepburn (1975). Celebration of Audrey‘s life took place at Westminster United Church inâ€"Thamesford. Interment at Robin Hill Cemetery. * Good friend to many cousins and penpals from around the world in Australia, England, Scotland, Wales, New Zealand, Finland, Denmark, South Africa and across USA and Canada. Loyal member and friend of many at UCW, London Conference and Women‘s Institute subdivision 23 of Ontario. Also good friend to Tovin, Skank and Mishyu (2006).
