President Evelyn Douglas opened the meeting with a poem. The minutes, treaâ€" surer‘s report, euchre report and Tweedsmuir curator‘s report were given. Delegates for Fall Board and London Area Convention were selected. It was decided to make a donation to the Harrigan family in the loss of their home. Members are reminded to bring their homemade preserves to the October meeting for the Euchre Luncheon door prize. Evelyn Douglas, Liz Harrison and Sheila Greason reported on the WI disâ€" play at the Outdoor Farm Show. The proâ€" gram had been organized by Liz Harrison and her group. The speaker was Janice Sloat, a dietician with the Oxford County Health Unit. Janice spoke about Canada‘s new Food Guide. She distributed menu, food and activity planners. Janice was thanked by Irene Richardson. The WI and Browns UCW signs have been freshened up, thanks to Karen Richardson. Brown‘s W Euchre ‘ Brown‘s Women‘s Institute Euchre was Thursday evening at Brown‘s School. The winners are as follows: Men‘s High â€" Earnest Oliver; Men‘s Lowâ€" Andy Kittmer; Men‘s Lone Hand â€" John MacDonald. Lady‘s High â€" Jean Sims, Lady‘s Low â€" Norine Switzer; Lady‘s Lone Hand â€" Irene Felkar. Door Prize â€" Allan Sims. The euchre luncheon will be November 3 at noon at the Brown‘s School. The proâ€" ceeds will go to Brown‘s WI, and the balâ€" ance to the "Grannys to Grannys" project through the Stephen Lewis Foundation. ____‘ Oxford District WI The Oxford District WI fall board meetâ€" ing was held at the Mt. Elgin Community Hall. President Carol Innes welcomed _â€" everyone and told about helping Patty Pizziola, ROSE program manager, get enough people to ___ _]| belp at the WI area at the Outdoor Farm Show. Nancy Muir of the Lakeside Branch had an interesting expeâ€" rience when she asked an elderly man if he was familiar with the Women‘s Institute.
