Browns WJI celebrates 70 years of fun and fellowship The 70th anniversary of Browns Women‘s Institute was observed at Browns School on May 20 with a Hat and Glove Tea. President Evelyn Douglas welâ€" comed everyone. The Mary Stewart Collect and Institute Ode were repeated. Pianist Nancy West provided appropriate backâ€" ground music. Anne Innes, president of the London Area Women‘s Institute, and Carol Innes, of the Oxford District Women‘s Institute, brought greetings. Evelyn Arthur shared some highlights of the past 70 years, including short courses, sponsorâ€" ing 4â€"H clubs, sponsoring ambasâ€" sadors for local fairs, providing displays for fairs, participating in the Stepping Out dinners at the St. Marys Friendship Centre and sponsoring euchre luncheons for various charities. Almost $18,000 has been raised from the euchre luncheons over the years.
