Convocation was held May 14, 2009 at which time she received a Master of Divinity Degree. Janet has accepted a position at Corunna Pastoral Charge. Good job Mom, all the best! 'utet fhGea, The Oxford District Women's Institute held its annual meeting at the Browns School House, on May 26. Patty Pizziola was the main speaker. She is Editor of Home and Country Rose Garden, the news publication of the Federated Women's Institute of Ontario. She is also the Rose Program man- ager. ROSE stands for Rural Ontario Sharing Education. She assured us any branch, even small ones, can host a Rose event. Any edu- cational topic is good and invite other branches and the public. The themes for the next two years are "Get Involved" and "Stay Involved." It makes things happen and keeps us older people young at heart and interested. She challenged us to stay positive, negative thinking and speaking will not bring new members. How you receive visitors to your meetings and Rose programs makes a big difference. Patti, will be looking fkvohuiteers for the Outdoor Farm Show in September, to help F4 with the hosting of "Celebrating, Healthy Living" Expo. Volunteers work three-hour shifts and get a free pass to the grounds. We now have Junior Members, 10 to 16 year olds can join for $5 and can attend Branch functions. At 17 they can become reg- ular members. Ruth Gourley, London Area voting, delegate ratified the District Directors. The Memorial Service was given by Braemar It was voted to support the 4-H exchange trip to Alberta with $200. Total volunteer hours for the District is 18,596! We still make a big difference in our communities and our country and, through, ACWW even the world. Joyce Hill from Princess Elizabeth WI chal- lenged the group to knit baby toques, make diapers, etc. for Canada Comfort and Children's. Hospital.
