MARKS BIRTHDAY First President Congratulated at the Branch‘s s 25th Anniversary. _ Cheltenham, July 10.â€" Mrs.W.W.Wilkinson, first : president of the Cheltenham branch of the Women‘s Institute received offlcial congratulations yesteâ€" rday, in company with the present chief executive, Mrs. Wilbert Wilkinson, on the 25th anniversary of the branch . Mrs.W.W.Wilkinson gave the history of the incâ€" eption of the branch, shortly after the county inâ€" stitute was formed. Mrs.D.M!cClure, Brampton, the then county president, organized the branch, Mrs. F.P.Haines being appointed secretary. Another of ° the first offlcers was Miss Lottie Wilson. Miss Susie Campbell, for many years county secretary, was present at the inauguril meeting, and the spâ€" ecial speaker of the day was Mrs. Wells, Syracuse, N.Y. who outlined the work, then new in Ontario. The first meeting was held in the same _house as: yesterday*is mesting, Urs.W.W.Wilkinson being the hostess of 25 years ago, while her daughterâ€"inâ€" law, Mrps. George Wilkinson, was yesterday‘s hosâ€" tess . Present were Mps.J.A.McBride, county presidâ€" ent; Mrs.W.McClure, secretary; Mrs., John Porter, central viceâ€"president; Miss K.F.McIntosh, home : f demonstrator. Musical numbers were given by Marion Haines and Evelyn Lyons.
