Oh, how we put our best foot forâ€" ward to préséenmt a Fashion Show at Skeeâ€"Hi, and remaiber? we competed with wet and mud! We sold 500 pems at $1.00 each, and we appeared on C.F.P.L. How proud we were to officially @pen the picnic shelter in May 1967 with Grace Patterson in attendance along with several members in Centennial costume. Pm 1984 the picnic shelter was repaired and provided four new tables painted bright biue. A large stone with a marker indicating that the Park was renamed "The Grace C. Patterson Park", was placed near the entrance to the park. On a lovely Sunday in Sseptember,1984 a dedication service was held with members of Grace‘s family, North Oxford District President, Mrs. Lorne Fleming and dignitaries from the community as special qguests. . Booiks are placed in Thamesford Library in memory of deceased members. We honâ€" oured Missg Patterson 1964 by having her favourite personality "Ting", cartoonist from the London Free@ Press, as our special guest; and again at our 25th anniversary in 1970 when she was presentegd with a Life Membership. In honour of Miss Patterson‘s 90th birthday the U.C.W. @a@d Grace Patterson W.I, jointly hosted an Open House in Westminster Hall when her many friends called to wish her well. It was her wish that any donations of money reé@éived in her honour be sent to a fund to honour Dr. Mary Verghese in India for her work with Leprosy. A total of $1250.00 was forwarded. To show appreciation to Mrs. Roy Ross for twentyâ€"five years of dedication and hard work as Pweedsmuir History Curator she was presented with a suitably worded plaqgue in 1978. In 1983 Mrs. Angus Matheson and Mrs. Archie Armour were presented with ceramic figurines im appreciation of their years of service as Treasurer and Public Relations Ofâ€" ficer. We have hosted at least three District Annuals. Three of our members have servâ€" ed terms ag Pigtrict President. During these years the branch hosted the noon luncheon at Spring Boar@, and the pot luck at Fall Board. Through the years contributions have been made to Adelaide Hoodless and Erland Lee Foundation Funds, Cancer Fund, the C.N.I.B., Children‘s Hospital, Salvation Army, Federated Womenm‘s Institutes of Ontario Scholarship Funds, tornado and hurricane relief, A.C.W.W. SaÂ¥e the Sight and Water for All, Pennies for Friendship and Loaf of Bread, Cross E(l;)lads Afrlga; Arc Industries and Women‘s Emergency. We made quilt blocks for Erland Lee useum) Homg. _ Our ammual bus trips provide fun, fellowship and education and food. We have toured industries, and visited museums, gardens, potteries, fish hatcheries, the W.I. 4 nomes , hlï¬t‘@[m@ Ssites, and fabulous eating places. We have visited nurseries, greenhouses, «_2 Pioneer Yillages, Art Galleries, shopping centres and cruised on rivers and around harâ€" bours.
