Let us pray Loving God, thank you for the memories of those who have had visions. We are grateful that you gave them the courage to pursue their visions. Grant that the inspirations of the past will be instilled in all of us to follow our dreams and goals May we always be persistent to follow though with our goals. Loving God grant us the wisdom to accept change.. Thank you for your guidance and strength as we continue. Amen. Adelaide Hoodless is a name that comes up frequently when we talk about WT. Her persistence has rubbed off onto the movers and shakers of the times. Tonight we remember these many wonderful members who also had visions. These women have worked diligently locally and afar, helping with program planning, fair exhibits, planning displays, Tweedsmuir History books, and Day Aways. etc. Some have been followers who come to meetings for the sociability and the knowledge gained. Some come with enthusiasm, to enjoy the meeting, some for inspiration, some for the projects, and some just to belong. The silent partners who worked quietly in the background wishing not to be seen and recognized, I'm sure, washed many dishes and or baked many pies. Some of these ladies have served and held offices in our local group. Some have dedicated their time to District and Area groups staying up to date with local, provincial FWIO, National FWIC and World ACWW. We remember them all. The skills and talents of these people have been passed down through the generations along with new ones. The WI is responsible for many changes in regulations through the years, as will become evident as the evening progresses. We need everyone to make an organization work and flourish. Let's keep it up. The WI and its members have changed through the years, and probably will continue to change, but really, over our 100 years, our activities remain similar. It is a gaining of Wisdom. Wisdom is taking time to care. Wisdom is in giving and wanting to share. Wisdom is grace and making amends Wisdom is having and keeping good friends Let us always be mindful of these things and those who went before. In particular tonight we remember our Nellie Simmonsen who passed so recently at the age of 94. She and her talents are missed. I dedicate this rose in memory of those leaders, followers, workers, listeners, and just plain people who have contributed through the years. I light this candle in recognition of our fore mothers who planted the seeds that have grown and flourished. May we continue to flourish so our Home and Country will be the better as a result.
