In 1885 he received a secondâ€"class . certificate for the Agriculture and Arts Asâ€" sociation of Ontario, taking second prize for the provâ€" ince. Mrs. Erland Lee was born January 4, 1862, at Woodâ€" stock, Ont., where her fathâ€" er, a contractor, had moved his family while he was building a school. When the father completed the conâ€" tract, the family returned to Hamilton. Mrs. Lee graduated from Hamilton Normal School and while teaching in that city she was chosen to take a kindergarten te a cher‘s course in ‘Toronto. She reâ€" turned to Hamilton to help set up a kindergarten sysâ€" tem there. In 1889 Janet Chisholm ‘ married Erland Lee and gave up her profession to beâ€" come a farmer‘s wife. When moving to her new home at Stoney Creek: Mrs. Lee brought with her a fine walâ€" nut dining room table from her grandfather‘s home in Ancaster.
