West Half Lot 11, Concession 6, Kincardine Township Norman McLeod , son of Donald and Sarah McLeod was born in Assynt, Sutherlandshire and married Dolena McLeod , daughter of Alexander and Janet McLeod on February 27, 1866. They settled on West Half of Lot 11, Concession 6, in 1868. Norman was a Great Lakes sailor. In 1877 they decided to go West but on losing a child with scarlet fever when they got to the Winnipeg, they decided to return. The next year they went to Algoma and settled in Bruce Mines area.
