West Half Lot 11, Concession 6, Kincardine Township Norman McLeod , son of Donald and Sarah McLeod was born in Assynt, Sutherlandshire and married Dolena McLeod , daughter of Alexander and Janet McLeod on February 27, 1866. They settled on West Half of Lot 11, Concession 6, in 1868. Norman was a Great Lakes sailor. In 1877 they decided to go West but on losing a child with scarlet fever when they got to the Winnipeg, they decided to return. The next year they went to Algoma and settled in Bruce Mines area. James Massie purchased the farm but his name doesn't appear in any census records so it is believed he left the area and Charles Wickham owned the property.
