I. Lookout on Wednesday, August 14. This lookout which over-- looks Georgian Ba?l com-- memorates Kemble W. I. from 1897--2007 as the long-- est active women's insti-- tute in the world. They have recently received a letter from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth for 115 years of service. Bervie WI members tour | Pine River Cheese factory iess Reper2 ts Tielt Bervie Women's Institute News Pine River Cheese hosted the Bervie Women's Institute for a tour at 10 a.m. on Sept. 5 -- Lynne gave an interesting talk on how cheese is made in their newly renovated facility. Following the business Islafi/ Eby and Elsie Schu-- lar will assist with the distri-- bution of pies at the Bruce County Plowing Match near Teeswater on Friday, August 31. Our next meeting will be a tour of Pine River Cheese on Wednesday, September 5, at 10 a.m., with lunch following in Point Clark. meetings. Our guest speaker, Kylie Pike of Retire--at--Home Services presented interesting facts concerning health care services available in our area and how they can assist with addi-- tional services when there is a need with our aging population. 5 Pike was thanked and presented with a gift by Janice Hewitt. Elsie Schular gave reports on both the area convention and District Rally, both held in October. _ = Our Christmas meeting and %ot- luck luncheon will be at the hall on Wed. Roll call was answered with naming a battle of World War I or World War IL Nine members of Bervie Women's Institute met at the hall on Oct. 4. Bervie Women's Institute News Bervie WI keeping busy The Bervie WI met at the hall on Dec. 5 with 10 members answering the roll call with their Christmas plans and a few remembrances of years past along with a stamped Christmas card for shut--ins. Everyone donated to the Kincar-- dine food bank in lieu of a gift exchange. Betty Ann Thompson present-- ed Janice Hewitt with a certificate as she was Bervie WI report invited the ladies to their meet-- ing on Sept. 5--7 p.m. There is also a Rose program on Heart Health at the Hano-- ver Columbus Centre on Sept. 26 at 1:30 p.m. An Alzheimer's collection will take place at our next meeting on Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. at the Bervie WI Hall. Remembrance was the theme of the meeting. Sandra MacDonald presented a video and photos of the 'Maple Leaf Tour' of France Belgium and Holland. Virene Thompson was thanked for a delicious lunch. Oct. 4. Members talked about the Bruce County Rally in Underwood on Oct. 25. The meeting was closed with the singing of God Save the Queen. ~.---- The next meeting is Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. with Kylie Pike of Retire at Home Grey Bruce. We invite anyone interested to attend. Then Vi Thompson, as convenor for the Christmas program, read several seasonal readings. A delicious pot luck lunch was en-- joyed at noon.
